Steamed Rice

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain rice.
  2. Add rice to a medium saucepan.
  3. Add water and salt.
  4. Bring water to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low.
  6. Cover and simmer rice for 15 to 20 minutes, or until water has been absorbed.
  7. Serve.

Makes approximately 3 cups of rice.

There are many varieties of rice to choose from. You may need to try a few before finding the right one for your cooking needs.

Most varieties of white rice are cooked using the same ratio: 1 part uncooked white rice and 2 parts liquid.

Serve steamed rice with Sweet and Sour Meatballs or Chinese Fried Rice.
