Middle Eastern Steamed Rice
Ingredients
Rice:
- 1 cup uncooked basmati rice
Water or Chicken Broth:
- 2 cups water (for a richer taste substitute chicken broth)
Butter and Seasonings:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- ⅛ teaspoon ground turmeric
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions

Rinse and drain the rice.
- Add rice to a medium saucepan.
- Add water (substitute chicken broth for a richer taste), butter, turmeric, and salt.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Serve.
